PADNATES IN MUMBAI:
The expatriation of Mahallu residents originally began end of 18th century. To start with, they had chosen Manglore and Mysore and end up their destination beyond the border Rangoon (capital of Burma now the Myanmar). Being displaced after 2nd world war some of them moved to Far East countries like Malaysia and Indonesia. Those who migrated to Malaysia were T.K. Beeran Kutty and his brother Kattil Kunhammed Haji, K. Ramadan Haji, L.K. Ibrahim whose offspring are still living over there. The leading Burmians were Pallikkalakath Ussan Kutty, Makaniyil Abdul Kader (Komban), Khateeb Abdul Rahman Muslyar, Burman Abdulla. The people like K. Abdul Rahman, K. Abdulla, Abu Haji, A.C. Abdulla Haji, Porot Pattillath Ahmed reached Colombo (Capital of then Ceylon) in the same period of time.

The Padnaits in Bombay who attributed to the growth of modern Padne from the toils of their life began their ingress as early as 19th century. Our ancestors reached Bombay by Kotya (sail boat) operated by Kachies and Lakshadeepians as cook and crew.  Being known about the Bombay metropolitan city from Mangalore they dreamed of to be there the earliest in quest of a salient future. Even though the rustic life turned to be a city life they never go in for pleasure as a moth hitting and dying allured by light. They fought for a better life for themselves and their dependants back home as simple as ever before.

Many Padnaits enrouted to Rangoon via Bombay and some of them eventually settled in Bombay port city as factory employees, Mini-workshops like Turning Lathe and Photo Frame shops, Restaurants, Chader vendors and Pan-beedi shops etc. Achummade Mohamed, Pakrichummade Moideen Kutty (Alandi), Achumade Soopy, N.B.
