Padne khidmathul Islam Sangam (PKIS) widely known as Khidmath is a charity organization formed on 13th December 1947 in Vadekkepram at U. Abdulla’s shop premises by A.V Abubcker Sha as founder president, C.H Hassainar founder Gen. Secretary, Maulavi L.K.C Mohhamed Kunhi Tressurer and P.S Mohammed Yusuf (Malikayil Mukrikkade), M.V. Mammu Mayinkatil, V.K. Abdul Khader (Soummade), K.P Ahmed Kallitil and P.P Assainar Pathimade as office bearers in association with the Padne Jama-athul Islam Dars Mahallu Paripaalana Committee (Dars Committee). While Kidmath was in active a parallel committee JAJIDUL ISLAM Sangham led by M.P Assainar Madapram, Mukri kunhahmed Seethi (Seethere Veettil) and Mammikade Mohammed Haji was working that merged into Khidmath at a later stage. Due to paucity of funds initially it was small things in its agenda. The Khidmath involved in providing monetory help to the relatives of the dead who could not afford burial charges, and helping Musafirien (poor travelers) during the month of Ramadan. However, Khidmath had a big role to play during the Cholera epidemic spread out in the region. The members of Khidmath voluntarily took part in relief activities during the epidemic. The days long Kanji Parcha (Dispersion of porridge or soup made out of rice and coconut) was very famous on those days. The Lantern Street Lights introduced by the Khidmath when electricity was unknown to village served as a guide for commuters during the night. The Red stone (Chengallu) used in Maqbaras were ferrying from Kaithakkadu Mala by Cheena (Kettu Vanchi) to the Padne boat jetty and further head loaded to the burial grounds by Khidmath volunteers. The battery operated Loud Speaker introduced to the village were famous till 70s for various purposes including wake up of villagers for the Attazham (supper) in the month of holy Ramadan. The rental chairs, tables, dusks, benches and utensils for marriage parties and other gatherings supplied by Khidmath were income oriented services.
